Ann Drake has been a psychotherapist since 1972 and a shamanic practitioner since 1992. In the seventies and early eighties she worked in a feminist therapy collective with women who had experienced physical, sexual, and emotional trauma. Ann received a doctorate in clinical psychology school at the Antioch/New England School of Professional Psychology in 1989.
She went to Borneo in 1992 and met a shamanic healer who transformed her life. Ann was initiated into the Unani tradition of shamanic healing by the Bomoh, a wise and gifted healer. Upon her return, she has devoted herself to the study and practice of shamanism and has worked towards a clinical and theoretical synthesis of psychology and shamanism.
