Shaman Links felt that it would be a good idea to add a book directory for Shamanic Books.  We saw a need to be able to view shamanic books by more specific categories.

However, since 2003, we have maintained and still maintain a free Shamanic Healer and Shaman Teacher directory.  There can be quite a bit of work to process an application, and keep listings up to date.  We realized we did not have the resources to provide free book submissions.  The cost is to help us process the applications, and for the time involved communication around application submission. (Clarifying information, obtaining book covers, editing the submissions etc.)

Additionally, in order to create a form which allows authors to provide information they would wish to see on their listing, we had to purchase software that has a yearly fee.
